What is the current Set of Affairs between Jada & Will Smith

According to Jada, since 2016, they’ve been leading what she calls “completely separate lives.” It’s not a legal divorce, but she likened it to a divorce without the paperwork. They share two kids, Willow and Jaden, and Will has a son, Trey, from a previous marriage.

You might wonder why this comes as a shock, especially if you’ve tuned in to their “Red Table Talk” series, where they’ve openly discussed things like Jada’s extramarital relationship in 2020 and the unforgettable slap incident at the 2022 Academy Awards. Yep, that Oscars moment where Will marched up to Chris Rock for a chat after a joke about Jada’s hair.

The full interview is set to air on an NBC News special on October 13, so mark your calendars. Plus, Jada’s got a memoir, “Worthy,” hitting the shelves on October 17, promising even more insight into their lives and her growing up in Baltimore.

Jada said, “By the time we got to 2016, we were just exhausted with trying. I think we were both kind of just still stuck in our fantasy of what we thought the other person should be.” While the idea of divorce has crossed her mind, she’s committed to working through their issues.

But Jada made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. “We will work through whatever. I just haven’t been able to break that promise.” Jada also revealed that Chris Rock had once asked her out on a date amid rumours of her divorce from Will Smith.

Oscar Incident & Future Ahead for Will Smith & Jada Smith?

In another chat with People Magazine, she admitted that when Will made his way over to Chris Rock, she initially thought it was all part of the show. “I was like, ‘There’s no way that Will hit him,’” Jada said. “It wasn’t until Will started to walk back to his chair that I even realized it wasn’t a skit.”

Will Smith, on his part, has offered multiple apologies for the Oscar incident, which got him slapped with a 10-year ban from attending the Oscars and other academy events. 🤯

Smith and Pinkett Smith share two children, 24-year-old son Jaden Smith and 21-year-old daughter Willow Smith. The “Pursuit of Happyness” actor also has a 29-year-old son named Trey from his first marriage with ex-wife Sheree Zampino.

In her memoir, Pinkett Smith details the “rollercoaster ride from the depths of suicidal depression to the heights of personal rediscovery and the celebration of authentic feminine power,” per publisher Dey Sreet Books, as well as her relationship with rapper Tupac Shakur, whom she met in high school.

What’s Will Smith’s reaction to all this?

As per the report by Page Six, Will Smith has now addressed estranged wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s bombshell revelations in an email to the New York Times. Will said, “When you’ve been with someone for more than half of your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in, and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties.”

He also added that the revelations made in the memoir kind of “woke him up” and he had also realized that she is more “resilient, clever and compassionate than he’d understood.”
